The 2016 Festival ran from May 26th – May 29th in Yorkton. Thank you to all that joined us this year. Please note all dates and times are past and for reference purposes only.
Our registration rate of $195 per day is available now until May 8, 2016. Student registration is $45, but does not include tickets to either Lobsterfest or the Awards Gala (tickets can be purchased separately). All registered delegates have access to all our festival panels and lunch. Entry into screenings is free of charge.
High School Student Day requires a separate registration and is $20 for students and free for teachers and chaperons.
Note: Schools that are paying for their students can contact the festival office to get a link that does not require payment with the submission.

James Pittman is a burnt-out photography professor who goes on sabbatical and straight into a mid-life crisis. A young artist named Lucy comes into his life and he tries desperately to recapture the lost spirit of his youth.
Directed by Brian Stockton, starring James Whittingham, Laura Abramsen, and Bernadette Mullen. The Sabbatical was shot entirely in Regina, Saskatchewan. The YFF is thrilled to be bringing this film to our audience this year.

High school students can take part in this all day intensive workshop. Work with some of Canada’s top talent as you take a project from start to finish and learn the ins and outs of the filmmaking process.

A festival favourite, offers an east coast lobster dinner with a side order of skeet shooting. Enjoy fine dining in a relaxed and unique atmosphere that promises to be an unforgettable experience.
A single ticket is included with each non-student registration. Extra tickets are available to purchase from the festival office and the Yorkton Lion’s Club. Steak and vegetarian tickets are also available.

SMPIA is happy to celebrate its 30th anniversary with a networking event as part of the Yorkton Film Festival. Taking place after the famous lobster supper, this event will be a chance for industry professionals to mix in a casual and fun environment.
